Week 29: 80's

This has been a great week. We are so happy about the nice weather and lighter days. Joshua has been busy working in the yard and Judah and I playing. Joshua got the side of the house ready for my moms old tent trailer we are getting. And the boy scouts thatched and aerated our lawn as part of a fundraiser. Judah got to hang out in the garage and watch daddy work. He is getting down the whole sitting and reaching skills.

Judah got his first haircut/trim this week. I came home from work and found Judah and Joshua like this.

I thought it was so funny that Judah was in the sink and Joshua was a buzzer. But he pointed out it is safer then a razor.

We celebrated Kaaryn's 30th birthday at Krista's house. We all dressed up in hideous costumes. Joshua won the best costume for showing those legs.

On saturday we went to a Carley's water polo game and Judah LOVED it. He sat in our lap and watched attentively for two hours. What a blast.

Week 28: Happy Birthday Grandma

This week has been pretty low key. Joshua worked to finish the floors in the kitchen and I cleaned.

On Friday Joshua went to a man's night at Calvary for the youth group and I stayed home with Judah. He is doing great continuing to play and entertain me. The poor guy got worn out while feeding himself and feel asleep with a quater full bottle in his hands.

Sunday at church we discovered they had put up a new history of the church wall with some pictures.. We found Joshua's picture was up on the night we sand bagged. That was the very first night I ever noticed him. Kind of funny to see it in the lobby.

Sunday night we hosted my moms birthday at our house. It was great getting together with everyone!

Week 27: Happy Half Birthday

Our sweet Judah is 6 months! I can not believe half a year has gone by. It seems just the other day I was so anxious for him to come. This is from my last journal entry before Judah came to us.

"Hello my sweet little love. I made it a few more days with you in my tummy. I am so anxious for you to get here and hold you in my arms.  I pray for you often and hope you are safe. I am happy that you are going to be an October baby. I sure love this month and I love you."

We sure love this boy with all our hearts and he is a true joy.

So our big news of the week is Joshua finished with his last class he has to attend for his bachelors! He picked up his graduation cap and gown and his Honors cords. I am so proud of him.

Because he is done with school we actually have some extra family time which is great! We went on two walks this week. One in the neighborhood and one at Wildwood park. Judah tried to eat Joshua's seeds.

We have decided to start teaching Judah sign language. Joshua and I have both wanted to learn for a long time so this is a great opportunity. We got our resources in the mail this week and I am so excited. We are starting with Mom, Dad, Milk, Eat, and Up. We will let you know how it goes!

Week 26: Spring Break Camping

This past week was my Spring Break and lucky for Judah and I, Joshua got one more week off of work. So we decided to go camping in the Olympics. We had to wake up this little cowboy to get an early start.

We were camping at the Dungeness Spit Park. It was weird setting up camp with the extra baby gear this year. Joshua loves the beach so we headed out for a 11 mile hike on the beach to the end of the spit and back. It was a very long 11 miles that took about 5 hours. Judah was a trooper in the pack until about the last hour when the sun was going down and he was hungry!

We finally made it to the lighthouse at the end! Judah is still in the pack.

That night we were very cold and poor Judah kept waking up. As we were laying in bed in the morning I was playing on my phone and saw our friends were camping in Yakima and it was going to be 70 degrees. We looked at our weather and it was going to be 60 degrees and raining. That sealed the deal and we packed up and made the six hour drive to join them in Yakima. They found a great spot on the river on DNR land. We were thrilled to join them.

Can you beat a fire right by the river!? And a toddler to entertain your child. This is vacation.

Charlotte investigated Judah's shoe
Judah paid her back by holding on to her feet. Since Charlotte is three months older she is a lot more mobile then Judah. She would crawl all over him and then get mad when he grabbed her. So cute watching them play.

The only bad thing about Yakima is it got just as cold at night. We bundled the babies up by the fire to keep them warm.

That night we put Judah in gloves, a hat, two pajamas, two sleep sacks, socks and wrapped in a blanket. When he woke up he was nice and warm and not happy with me when I undressed him to change his diaper in the 45 degree morning chill.

The second day we were there we decided to walk along the DNR land. We saw lots of different hunting ground along the way. We found a great flat area by the river and realized we should have packed lunches but luckily the kids had snacks.

 What a great week:)
